Opportunity
Balicore Construction was hired to build a 1-story high bay office-warehouse building, spanning 30,000 square feet.
The primary objective of this project was to create a Class A office-warehouse space tailored specifically for Amazon's operational needs.
One of the notable features of this office-warehouse building is the inclusion of four loading docks. Three of these docks are depressed, allowing for easy loading and unloading of goods, while the fourth dock is at grade level. This configuration ensures smooth and efficient movement of products, enhancing Amazon's distribution capabilities. Additionally, the building incorporates well-planned site improvements to facilitate accessibility for trucks and other vehicles.
The foundation of the building consists of spread footings and a durable slab on grade, providing a solid base for the structure. Structural and non-structural masonry/brick veneer, along with structural steel, were utilized to ensure the building's stability and longevity.
To enhance the building's aesthetics and durability, metal siding was chosen as the exterior cladding material. This choice not only provides a sleek and modern appearance but also offers excellent protection against the elements. The roofing system incorporates a reliable membrane, ensuring a watertight seal and safeguarding the interior from potential leaks.
The office area of the building features aluminum storefronts and windows, allowing ample natural light to flood the space. This design element not only creates a pleasant working environment but also contributes to energy efficiency by reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.
